Ready for an even bigger adventure?
Moose River Outpost introduced the Paddles and Saddles program for the first time in 2016. Paddles and Saddles is for campers ages 14 and up who are interested in a multi-day immersive trip experience. Campers will paddle and fish on the St. Croix river, then transition to mountain biking on some of Maine’s best single-track at Bradbury Mountain and Bond Brook State Parks. No previous experience in mountain biking or paddling is required for the trip – Just a passion for the outdoors and a desire to see God’s world.
The St. Croix river is a beautiful paddle, with opportunities for moose sightings, lots of approachable whitewater, and good fishing along the way. Bradbury and Bond Brook State parks feature miles if bike-specific trail designed to get the most out of the way mountain bikes corner, roll, and descend.
This special program is an all-trips session at camp. It’s perfect for campers who can’t fit WILD into a summer schedule or who are wanting to see what longer trips would be like before committing to WILD the following year.
We recommend combining Paddles and Saddles with a session at MRO to complete the experience. Either way, as a stand-alone event, or as a part of a month at camp, this trip takes the MRO experience to the next level.
